The contents of this whole section are primarily aimed at, but not limited to, the phpBB forum software. I still have all the contents (and then some) from my former website (ForumImages.com) and may make them available at some point. With phpBB 3 came “face” shaped smileys and after a few changes the release of version 3.0.3 saw the full adoption of anti-aliased images which on darker backgrounds exhibit lighter coloured pixels around their periphery.
The original phpBB smileys were created by a number of people, who will be listed in an article (to follow) comparing the different phpBB versions.
The set of smilies included in this set are direct replacements for the phpBB 3.0.3/4 ones, colour matched to those included with phpBB 2.x. A smiley pak file for both phpBB 2 & 3 is included in the download. All smileys are the same dimensions (15px × 17px) which makes alignment in posting pages uncomplicated.
I am happy for these images to be distributed under the same terms as the ones they were intended to replace (phpBB is released under the GPL Version 2 license). My only desire is that I am credited with their creation and that the readme_daz.txt is included in the package.
